In November 1978, Mr. Chan Tok Joo, the present Managing Director founded Express Trading Co. - a medium-sized company specializing in the duplication of recorded audio cassette tapes. From this modest beginning, the company achieved considerable growth and by the early eighties, had become a leading player in the cassette duplication industry.
In 1984, the company continued its upstream expansion and invested in plastic injection moulding machinery to produce cassette parts and accessories like blank and c-zero cassettes, outer boxes, CD jewel boxes and racks. On the 15th of September 1989, Express Audio Industry Sdn. Bhd. (EAI) was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act 1965.
Responding to the call of the Malaysian government for greater multimedia technology, EAI ventured into the CD replication industry in late 1996 by building a third plant in Hulu Langat, Selangor. Today, the RM 10 million plant is equipped with state-of-the-art discs mastering, replication and printing facilities to produce high quality CD-ROM, CD-Audio and Video CD to meet the growing demand from local as well as international markets.
